  2. In a small bowl, combine oats and boiling water. Let it stand for 20 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the soaked oats, raisins, and chopped nuts.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
