Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup Graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoon All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 2.5 pound Apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoon Cold water
  • 1 unit Egg, beaten
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, vanilla extract, remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and cornstarch. Arrange the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
  4. In a small bowl, mix cold water with cornstarch until smooth. Brush the beaten egg over the edge of the crust.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until the crust is golden and the apples are tender.
  6. Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature.
