Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples. Toss the apple slices with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Arrange half of the apple slices over the batter in the pan.

Spread the remaining batter over the apple slices. Arrange the remaining apple slices in a lattice pattern on top.

Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and water to make a glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cake.
