  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the molasses and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, slice and serve.
