  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 cup Molasses
  • 1/2 cup Hot water
  • 8 cup Cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Whipping cream
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch (23x33 cm) baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and molasses.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the hot water. Mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Meanwhile, prepare the cream cheese frosting. In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  7. In a separate bowl, whip the whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
  8. Once the cake has cooled, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top.
  9. Allow the cake to rest for 30 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
