Peel and chop the potatoes. Boil them in salted water until tender.

Drain the potatoes and mash them with butter and milk until smooth. Set aside.

Chop the onion, carrots, celery, and garlic.

In a large skillet, heat some oil and sauté the onion, carrots, celery, and garlic until softened.

Add lentils, vegetable stock, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, peas, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well.

Simmer the mixture for about 15-20 minutes until the lentils are cooked and the flavors are well combined.

Transfer the lentil mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes evenly on top.
