  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Peel, core, and chop the Fuji apples into small pieces.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chopped Fuji apples.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
