  • 1.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 0.5 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup Boiling water
  • 4 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cup Chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Spread it evenly.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the boiling water and butter until the butter is melted. Pour the mixture over the batter in the baking pan.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, sprinkle powdered sugar on top and garnish with chopped nuts if desired.
  8. Slice and serve.
