  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the butter, milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. In a small saucepan, heat the water and gelatin over low heat until the gelatin is dissolved. Let it cool slightly.
  8. Arrange the mixed fruits on top of the cooled cake.
  9. Pour the gelatin mixture over the fruits, making sure to cover them completely.
  10. Refrigerate the cake for at least 1 hour to allow the gelatin to set.
