Roll out the shortcrust pastry and cut out circles to line a muffin tin.

Fill each pastry case with a spoonful of mincemeat.

In a bowl, mix together almond paste, butter, caster sugar, and egg until smooth.

Spoon the almond mixture over the mincemeat in each pastry case.

Sprinkle flaked almonds on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Allow the pies to cool in the tin for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
