  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples.
  3. In a bowl, mix the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  4. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
  5. Brush a baking dish with melted butter.
  6. Layer 4 fillo pastry sheets in the baking dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
  7. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top of the fillo pastry sheets.
  8. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the fillo pastry sheets.
  9. Layer the remaining 4 fillo pastry sheets on top, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the fillo pastry is golden brown.
  11. Allow the pie to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  12. Serve warm and enjoy!
