The Fireball Cake gets its name from the addition of Fireball whiskey in the glaze, giving it a spicy kick.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the hot water while mixing the batter.
  5. Stir in the cayenne pepper and cinnamon.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch round cake pan.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and Fireball whiskey until smooth.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
