Shepherd’s Pie is traditionally made with lamb, but this fiesta version uses ground beef for a Mexican twist.

  5. In a separate pot, prepare the mashed potatoes according to package instructions.
  6. Spread the ground beef mixture evenly in a baking dish.
  7. Top with the mashed potatoes, spreading them evenly over the beef mixture.
  8. Dot the mashed potatoes with butter and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Let the shepherd's pie rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  11. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
