The Fat Elvis Cake is inspired by Elvis Presley’s favorite sandwich, which consisted of peanut butter, banana, and bacon.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Mix in the mashed bananas and buttermilk. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing until just combined.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan. Drop spoonfuls of peanut butter onto the batter, then sprinkle with chocolate chips and chopped peanuts. Cover with the remaining batter.

Bake for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, dust the cake with powdered sugar before serving.
