Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 0.5 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Hot water
  • 0.5 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Red food coloring
  • 8 pieces Mentos candies
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix hot water, powdered sugar, and red food coloring until the sugar is dissolved.
  6. Carefully pour the red syrup over the cake batter.
  7. Place the cake pan on a baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes.
  9. Carefully place Mentos candies on top of the cake.
  10. Serve the cake and enjoy the eruption!
