The Erupting Volcano Cake gets its name from the eruption-like effect created by pouring the red syrup over the cake batter, resembling a volcano eruption.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

In a separate bowl, mix hot water, powdered sugar, and red food coloring until the sugar is dissolved.

Carefully pour the red syrup over the cake batter.

Place the cake pan on a baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Carefully place Mentos candies on top of the cake.
