Ingredients
  • 200 gram Unsalted Butter
  • 200 gram Granulated Sugar
  • 150 gram All-Purpose Flour
  • 50 gram Cocoa Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 unit Eggs
  • 100 gram Dark Chocolate
  • 1 cup Canned Cherry Pie Filling
  • 1/2 cup Whipped Cream
  • 8 unit Cherries (for garnish)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
  6. Melt the dark chocolate and fold it into the batter.
  7. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly on the bottom of a greased 9-inch pie dish.
  8. Pour the batter over the cherry pie filling.
  9. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the pie to cool for 10 minutes, then invert it onto a serving plate.
  11. Let the pie rest for at least 1 hour before serving.
  12. Serve with whipped cream and garnish with cherries.
