Shepherds Pie is traditionally made with lamb, but using ground beef is a popular variation.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Add the onion, carrots, and peas to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, until the vegetables are slightly softened.

Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, and tomato paste. Season with salt and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

In a separate saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the milk. Add the mashed potatoes and mix until well combined.

Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the mashed potatoes are golden and the filling is bubbling.

Allow the Shepherds Pie to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
