Easy Shepherd’s Pie
Shepherd’s pie is traditionally made with lamb or mutton, while cottage pie is made with beef. The name ‘shepherd’s pie’ comes from the use of lamb, as shepherds are responsible for raising and tending to sheep.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Add the onion, carrots, and peas to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes, until the vegetables are slightly softened.

Stir in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for another 5 minutes.

Transfer the mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish.

In a separate pot, prepare the mashed potatoes according to package instructions.

Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the beef mixture in the baking dish.

Dot the top of the mashed potatoes with butter.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the potatoes are golden and the filling is bubbling.
