  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin tin.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together almond flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the almond flour mixture.
  5. Stir in melted butter and almond extract.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin tin cups.
  7. Sprinkle sliced almonds on top of each cake.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow the cakes to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
