  1. Steep the Earl Grey tea bags in boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
