  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Roll out the pie crust and line a greased pie dish with it.
  3. Peel, core, and slice the apples.
  4. In a bowl, mix the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  5. Spread the breadcrumbs over the pie crust.
  6. Fill the pie dish with the apple mixture.
  7. Dot the top of the apples with small pieces of butter.
  8. Roll out the remaining pie crust and cover the pie.
  9. Trim and crimp the edges of the pie crust.
  10. Beat the egg with milk and brush the top of the pie with the egg wash.
  11. Make a few small slits on the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  12. Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  13. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 1 hour before serving.
