  2. In a 9x13-inch baking dish, spread the canned fruit pie filling evenly.
  3. Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the fruit.
  4. Slice the butter into thin pieces and distribute them over the cake mix.
  5. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts over the top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
  8. Serve warm or at room temperature.
