The Ding Dong Cake is inspired by the popular Ding Dong snack cakes, which were first introduced in 1967 by Hostess Brands.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, chocolate instant pudding mix, milk, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined.

Pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely.

Once the cake has cooled, spread the whipped cream over the top.

Spoon the cherry pie filling over the whipped cream.

Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
