Date and Walnut Cake
Dates are believed to have originated in the Middle East and have been cultivated for thousands of years. They are not only delicious but also a good source of fiber and essential minerals.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.

In a bowl, combine the dates and walnuts. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

Fold in the date and walnut mixture.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
