Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.

In a large bowl, combine the vanilla cake mix, orange gelatin, orange juice, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let the cake cool completely in the pan.

In a separate bowl, mix the whipped topping, orange zest, and orange food coloring until well combined.

Once the cake has cooled, spread the whipped topping mixture evenly over the top.
