Preheat the oven to 325°F. Grease and flour a 4x6 inch loaf pan.

In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter until creamy. Add the granulated sugar and beat until light and fluffy.

Add the egg and vanilla extract, and beat until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Slice the pound cake and serve with fresh strawberries on top. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
