  • 1.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 0.25 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cup Fresh cranberries
  • 0.5 cup Maple syrup
  • 1 cup Boiling water
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the fresh cranberries over the batter. Drizzle the maple syrup over the cranberries.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the boiling water and remaining sugar. Pour this mixture over the batter.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the cake is set.
