  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.
  3. In a large bowl, combine cranberries, apples, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  4. Pour the mixture into the pie crust. Dot with butter.
  5. Roll out the second pie crust and place it on top of the filling.
  6. Trim and crimp the edges. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  7. Brush the top crust with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for at least 1 hour before serving.
