  • 1 cup Butter
  • 2 cup Sugar
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Place the pan in the cold oven.
  5. Turn the oven on to 325°F (165°C) and bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, slice and serve.
