  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Cola
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Milk
  • optional for garnish Maraschino cherries
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the cola and bring to a boil.
  4. Pour the cola mixture into the dry ingredients and mix well.
  5. Add the buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together the confectioners' sugar and milk to make the glaze.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cake.
  11. Let the cake cool completely before serving.
  12. Garnish with maraschino cherries, if desired.
