Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Instant coffee granules
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix well after each addition.
  4. Dissolve the instant coffee granules in 1 tablespoon of hot water. Stir the coffee mixture into the batter.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped nuts (if using).
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture over the batter. Repeat with the remaining batter and brown sugar mixture.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
