  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the coconut milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the shredded coconut and coconut extract.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Smooth the tops with a spatula.
