Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon Orange zest
  • 2 tablespoon Freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoon Freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Poppyseeds
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract, lemon zest, and orange zest.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the lemon juice, orange juice, and milk. Stir in the poppyseeds.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
