  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter. Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon-sugar layer, and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and hot water to make a glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
  10. Slice and serve.
