In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.

In a large bowl, cream together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Gently fold in the chopped apples.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar evenly over the batter.

Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
