Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch (23cm) round cake pan.

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon and brown sugar.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the batter. Repeat with the remaining batter and cinnamon sugar mixture.

Using a knife, swirl the cinnamon sugar mixture into the batter.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
