Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a Christmas tree-shaped cake pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk. Stir in the green food coloring.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and water to make a glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
