  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  4. Stir in boiling water and mix until the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. While the cake is baking, prepare the chocolate frosting. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in cocoa powder and milk until smooth.
  8. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla extract until the frosting is smooth.
  9. Once the cake is done, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
