  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • 0.5 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together brown sugar and cocoa powder. Sprinkle this mixture over the batter.
  6. Pour boiling water over the top, but do not stir.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the cake is set and the pudding layer is bubbling.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  9. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
