The combination of chocolate and peanut butter was popularized by the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, which was first introduced in 1928.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 110 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 15.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a small bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and heavy cream until smooth.

Spread the peanut butter mixture over the cooled cake.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.

Drizzle the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer.

Sprinkle chopped peanuts on top.
