Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Instant coffee granules
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Boiling water
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Instant coffee granules
  • 1/2 teaspoon Hot water
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and instant coffee granules. Mix well.
  3. Add the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  4. Stir in the boiling water and mix until the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
  7. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. While the cakes are cooling, prepare the chocolate mocha frosting. In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly.
  9. Once melted and smooth, remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream, powdered sugar, instant coffee granules, and hot water. Mix until well combined.
  10. Let the frosting cool for about 15 minutes, then spread it evenly over the cooled cakes.
  11. Allow the frosting to set for at least 1 hour before serving.
  12. Slice and serve the delicious Chocolate Mocha Cake.
