Melt the chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Stir until smooth and set aside to cool slightly.

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until pale and fluffy.

Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring until well combined.

Sift in the flour and gently fold until just incorporated.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once the cake is completely cooled, use a sharp knife to level the top if needed.

Brush the top of the cake with Kahlua liqueur.
