Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, butter, and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.

Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
