In a large bowl, combine the gingerbread mix, eggs, vegetable oil, water, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and salt. Mix until well combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.

Pour the melted chocolate over the cooled cake, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
