Chocolate Chip Cookies W/O Baking Soda
Did you know that the first chocolate chip cookie was created by Ruth Graves Wakefield in 1938? She added chopped up chocolate to her cookie dough, expecting it to melt and create chocolate cookies. Instead, the chocolate pieces retained their shape, giving birth to the iconic chocolate chip cookie.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix well.

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture. Stir until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
