Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well. Fold in the chocolate chips. Spread the dough evenly into a greased 9-inch round cake pan. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Allow the cookie cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve and enjoy!
