  • For the Cake:
  • 1.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Cherries, pitted and halved
  • For the Streusel:
  • 0.5 cup Rolled oats
  • 0.25 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup Brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.25 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.25 cup Chopped walnuts
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt for the cake.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the cherries.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, chocolate chips, and chopped walnuts for the streusel.
  7. Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle the streusel evenly over the top.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
