Preheat the oven and prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions. Bake the cake in two round pans.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk and vanilla instant pudding mix until thickened. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold in the prepared pudding mixture.

Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread the cream filling evenly on top. Place the second cake layer on top.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and butter together. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Pour the chocolate glaze over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.

Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to allow it to set before serving.
