  • 12 piece Egg Whites
  • 1.5 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Cake Flour
  • 0.25 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 0.5 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a tube pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy. Add cream of tartar and salt, and continue beating until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add sugar, about 2 tablespoons at a time, while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold into the egg white mixture.
  5. Fold in vanilla extract and chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes, or until the cake springs back when lightly touched.
  8. Invert the pan onto a wire rack and let the cake cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, remove the cake from the pan and serve.
